This day course is designed for head teachers, leaders, etc who are planning or implementing the use of the outdoor environment with children and young people. Up-to-date research and practice will be used to illustrate how leaders and managers can not only utilize the learning environments and resources they have, but also to develop staff potential in developing pedagogically and developmentally appropriate practice. The course will look at the particular challenges facing heads and leaders today, including:

• Health and safety
• Parental attitudes
• Staff training
• Funding and resources.
